For the second time ever, mysterious bursts of radio signals one of which was observed to be repeated six times have been detected coming from outer space by a Canadian telescope.
The “Fast Radio Bursts” (FRBs) were estimated to have originated from the same source as that of the first time they were detected back in 2012, which is around 1.5 billion light years away. The nature of the source of these signals is still a mystery.
There have been speculations that the FRBs may be caused by exploding stars, magnetic fields or even possibly alien transmissions.
13 FRBs were detected by Canadian astronomers. FRBs are short, bright flashes of radio waves, which appear to be coming from almost halfway across the Universe.
